Wisdom

Wisdom

God’s Attribute

Wisdom

I read “Wisdom is the ability to devise perfect ends and to achieve these ends by the most perfect means. God makes no mistakes.” He is the alpha, omega, the beginning, and end. He is our Abba, Father. In Romans 11:33,

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible is it for us to understand His decisions and His ways.

Wisdom from the Spirit of God
Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2: 6-8

Beloved, in 1 kings 3: 9,  Solomon asked for a discerning heart and because he asked for this wisdom God also blessed him with riches, wisdom and a long life. 1 Kings 3:14 says, “And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.”

What does it look like to walk in obedience to God? Remember my motto is to put one foot in front of the other, so to walk in obedience to God is to follow the path that leads to God.

The first steps on the path is one of prayer. We need to pray like we have never prayed before. Beth Moore has a book, Praying God’s Word Breaking Free From Spiritual Strongholds. Stormie Omartian has a free Kindle book, The Seven Day Prayer Warrior Experience . She has many others wonderful books on prayer. Becky Tirabassi wrote, Let Prayer Change Your Life. She has prayed an hour or more a day for over thirty years. Beloved, Jesus teaches us to pray in Matthew 6. Prayer was a priority in His life. Is it a priority in your life?

Another step in following God on this path is to read His word. We need the Word of God daily as much as we need water for our journey. The Bible is available and there are so many reading plans but just like anything we need to read the Bible, we need to study and memorize the Bible so that just as we partake in eating food we eat the spiritual food that leads to wisdom. If you need a bible, please email me at blessingsrockwell@gmail.com and I will buy you a bible. Beloved, do you invest in yourself by reading God’s word?  Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

God is Wisdom. W-Wonderful  I-Intimacy  S-Sovereign  D-Delighted  O-Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent  M-Majesty.

We serve a wonderful God, He desires intimacy with each one of us. He is sovereign. He is delighted with each one of us. He calls us daughters. He is Omniscient-all knowing, Omnipotent- all powerful and Omnipresent-always present. He is majestic and loves each one of us. Beloved God is good all of the time. We love Him because He first loved us.

What is the first step you need to talk in your walk in faith? Set up a regular prayer time? Buy a Bible? Make reading your Bible a priority? Perhaps, you have put God on the back burner and you need to ask for forgiveness and rededicate your life to one of service?

Father God you are Wisdom, you are omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. Every day with you is sweeter than the day before. You forgive us when we are faithful and just to confess our sins to you (1 John 1:9). Just as King Solomon prayed for wisdom, grant us wisdom so that we may serve you faithfully every day. Father God, I ask that your word permeate everything that I do, that I do nothing out of selfish ambition, that I desire your will above all else in my life. We can trust you and lean not on our own understanding. All to Jesus I surrender  all to Him I freely give.  Amen

It would probably do me well to set up a regular prayer time. As of now I just pray all day throughout the day as the needs arise. But to really thank Him and spend time with him, that is what I need to work on. I do read His word everyday now so I do feel good about that. What a lovely post you have written here once again. And I’m sorry I don’t visit as often as I should, I’m trying to make that a priority as well. Blessings to you my friend ~Shannan

Hubby and I pray each night and I pray during the day as the Spirit leads me. However, my family has so many needs and issues that I rarely think to pray for others. I do on our OBS section when prayers are posted and I do when asked. I, too, ask for wisdom some time. It is hard to make emotional decisions when my kids are hurting, I need to let go and let God. that is so hard for me to do sometimes.

Dear Jeannie, I have been there, I think in those times that is when the Holy Spirit prays for us. I have been too overwhelmed to pray and yet I am praying. Blessings my friend. Diana
