John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word

March is Bible appreciation month and as we finish out this month, I wanted to share that I am in love with God’s word. Whether you have one Bible or many like me, the trick is that you need to read the Bible.

What are some of your favorite verses in the Bible? What is the longest chapter in the Bible? What is the shortest verse in the Bible? How many books are in the Bible?

Did you ever play in Sunday School the Sword game? This game would be how fast you could find a bible verse, once you located the verse you would step forward.

What was the first verse you memorized?

I was in Sunday School from the time I was little, here I am with my grandparents going to church.

The love of God’s word was instilled in me by my family. I remember sitting on my friend’s porch reading Genesis. I can remember learning how to pray. I still remember when I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was eleven years old. At twelve, I just knew I was to be a missionary. At eighteen, I knew I was to be a wife and then a mom. I was blessed with two beautiful sons that I introduced each to God’s word. We memorized Bible verses. Our church gave talents for each verse memorized so the boys were motivated to learn. As a young mother, I attended Bible Study Fellowship and this organization and my Bible teaching church, I learned to navigate the Bible. I highly recommend Bible Study Fellowship if you are able to attend a formalized Bible Study.

Here is another verse that I love that declares Jesus’ holiness. Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John 20:31

Beloved, celebrate by reading God’s word. If you do not have a Bible and cannot afford one, please email me at blessingsrockwell@gmail.com and I would love to get you a Bible. If you have never read God’s word, start in the book of John in the New Testament.

I am working this weekend so I will post again on Monday, March 30.

Father God, thank you for the Bible. Thank you that it is relevent today as it was when it written in scrolls. That your word points us to Christ. Lord let each one of us fall in love with your word and commit it to memory.

The longest Chapter in the bible is Psalm 119, the shortest verse in the bible is John 11:35, “Jesus Wept.” There are 66 books in the bible.

What a beautiful post my friend. I too went to church with my grandparents when I was young. My father was killed when I was 9 and my mom had a real hard time getting us to church for a while so I went with my grandparents. This is the same grandma whom I am now living with and taking care of. Isn’t that neat? Well I hope you have a good weekend although you will be working. Blessings to you my friend ~Shannan
