Worth

worth

How the gold has lost its luster, the fine gold become dull! The sacred gems are scattered at every street corner.

How the precious children of Zion, once worth their weight in gold, are now considered as pots of clay,

the work of a potter’s hands! Lamentations 4: 1-2

“Worth,” I always wondered where this saying comes from “worth your weight in gold.” God sees our hearts.  John 3:16 shares that God loves us so much that He gave His only Son so that we who believe in Him will have everlasting life.

Struggling with worth at times in my life, listening to voices of condemning thoughts, belittling myself, berating myself at times. Beloved, what is your self talk? Is it filled with self-condemnation? You will never_________. You deserve this ________________. You do not deserve this__________.

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

This week I’ve struggled with my worth, so the verse above is a good reminder that the Lord sees my heart. Beloved, God’s mercies are new every morning we have a clean slate every day. You are valuable, you are worth your weight in gold.
