Listening to the Right Voice

 

I am thankful that I made a commitment to write each day. This chapter is the cat’s meow. The wrong voice is the voice that says you are stupid, you are fat, you will never amount to anything, you are nothing but a failure, or you are ugly. The right voice is the one that says you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you are Christ’s friend, you are a success, or you are a minister of reconciliation.

I love when Tracie writes page 73, “all the lies are from the crooked lips of the one who wants to keep you down and purposeless.”

The devil is alive and well and he is prowling around seeking to devour us.

Do you have a Bible reading program? I bought a Chronological Bible and so far I am reading per day. I loved the questions Tracie says to ask, is there a promise to believe, sins to avoid, or something new about God to learn. When I am reading, I am looking for something new, something old that I already knew, and my marching orders for the day. Tracie promises God whispers to us through His word.

Here are the insightful statements from Chapter 6.

John 10:10 tells us the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, “The lurking begins in our minds.”

What he wants to steal is our peace, because without peace we cannot believe we have divine purpose.

If the enemy can make us feel worthless, steal our hope, rob us of our peace, and shame us into giving  in to a life apart from God because we believe our life doesn’t matter anyways, then he has won the spiritual battle.

We are the ones who decide which voice we will listen to.

He will reaffirm what He has said through a variety of ways.

He typically will speak in a quiet whisper, because a whisper draws out attention like nothing else. Especially a whisper from the Most High.

Romans 10:17, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

When reading God’s word, I had a list of questions,

Is there a promise to believe? Is there a sin to avoid?  Is their something new about God to learn?

How can I apply this Scripture in my life? Does the Scripture apply to something I am dealing with? How do I feel led to pray about this Scripture?

Beloved, your mission today, read Chapter 6 and believe He is walking beside you as you embark on a new adventure. Read Michelle Carlson story about being oppressed and coming through this dark time to serve Jesus.

Father God, thank you that you are greater than he who is in the world. You are the alpha the omega the beginning the end. You love us so much that you sent your one and only son to die on the cross for my sins so that I may have eternal life. Lord let me be filled with wisdom and spiritual discernment. Let me hunger and thirst after your righteousness. Let me be able to tell the difference between truth and error. Let me not be caught up in the petty strife that can seem overwhelming. In Jesus name, Amen.
