Healer

 Healer

 God’s Attribute

Healer 2

I am writing today a little behind schedule with a sad heart. My best friend lost her sister and then her dog. She is currently in another state so I can’t be with her. Would you pray for her comfort? Sometimes all one can do is send encouraging words and pray.

Beloved, when someone is hurting what do you do? Sometimes we feel that all we can do is pray. But in reality we should pray first. God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds as the above verse says.

In the bible there were references to people being ill and God healing them. Miriam, Moses’ sister, in relationship to disobedience came down with leprosy.  Numbers 12: 9-12, Aaron turns to Moses and Moses prayed.

God says in Deuteronomy 32:39,

See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.”

In my life, I suffer with chronic back pain, osteoarthritis, migraine headaches, sinusitis, not to mention the numerous surgeries I needed.  But I know that God is Healer. In 2009, I woke up with severe abdominal pain. I was in surgery by noon that day. I was so sick from an ulcer that became a hole in my stomach, I thought I was having a heart attack. God was my constant companion and I survived that episode of illness. I know God has healed me of obesity. I was 233 pounds in October 2011, I am at goal weight now and I promised God to never eat past full again. So I have maintained my weight for the three years since I had the gastric sleeve in July of 2012.

Who has God healed in your life? Will you thank God for His Attribute – Healer?   God is the Great Physician.

Father God, for the person that is waiting for You to heal her illness, will You become real to her? Lord, thank You that you intervene in my life and give me moments in my day where I am pain free. Thank you that I woke up without a headache this morning. Lord, let each of us do all that we can to be a temple of the Holy Spirit, let each of us eat well, exercise and take our negative thoughts to You. Amen.

    Hi Diana,
Please know that I am praying for your friend. To lose your sister and pet is a lot to deal with. I know our Savior will comfort her and see her through this sad time in her life. You are a precious friend and I know she finds comfort in your friendship. Praying for both of you.
