    Fact-For Real, Actual, Constant, Truth

    Beloved, today, our word fact is in the Bible twenty-three times, and its definition is a thing that is known or proven to be true. Jesus Christ had over three hundred prophecies fulfilled when he was born. Yet, to this day, the controversy over the fact of who Jesus is is still debated.

    Eternity hangs in the balance. If you believe that Jesus is a good man and a prophet and miss the point that He is God’s son, then you might want to examine the facts.

    This is the third time I am coming to you. Every fact is to be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. 2 Corinthians 13:1.

    The apostle Paul in this passage presents that Jesus was crucified, and he challenges us to examine our faith. The apostle Paul had no doubt who Jesus was; he met Him on the road to Damascus in Acts 9; Jesus changed Saul to Paul. Paul preached and wrote a third of the New Testament. This is a well-known fact.

    King David

    King David was factual in his prayers; he never shied away from the difficult situations in his life. He had many enemies, and he sometimes struggled with anger and strife. Do you struggle with anger? Has someone caused strife in your life? Do you have the facts right? Do they matter? Is it time to forgive? Lord, I choose to forgive____for____and it made me feel ______. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to reconcile. We forgive because it is a fact in 1 John 1:9 that God forgives us. Sometimes forgiveness will lead to reconciliation but not always.

    In Psalm 10 and Psalm 109, we see King David express the facts of his anger towards his enemies. However, he, like Paul, knew that vengeance was God’s. Even when we are right and have the facts on our side, we sometimes have to be the better person. We may have to set a boundary. Sometimes we may be required to forgive, but there will be no reconciliation. That is what Psalm 109 reminds me of not reconciling yet forgiving.

    Prayer

    Father God, Create a clean heart, search me, and let me know if there is any anxiety or worry. Thank you that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Today Lord, as I pray these words from Psalm 109,

    Help me, O Lord my God;
    Save me according to Your lovingkindness.
    27 And let them know that this is Your hand;
    You, Lord, have done it.
    28 Let them curse, but You bless;
    When they arise, they shall be ashamed,
    But Your servant shall be glad.
    29 Let my accusers be clothed with dishonor,
    And [q]let them cover themselves with their shame like a robe.

    30 With my mouth, I will give thanks abundantly to the Lord;
    And in the midst of many, I will praise Him.
    31 For He stands at the right hand of the needy,
    To save him from those who judge his soul.

    I pray this in Jesus’s name, Amen.

    Who might the Lord be asking you to forgive?

    Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior?
