    31 Day Writings

    Tell your story, we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

    Beloved, our word is the story. The story is in the Bible seven times. The definition of a story is

    • an account of imaginary or real people and events told for entertainment.
    • An account of past events in someone’s life or the evolution of something.

    Our individual story is our testimony. Each one of us has a story to tell. Are you willing to tell your story?

    So, let me tell you the story of this week. Challenging would describe my work week. Being a case manager is sometimes difficult, as you do not have a clear discharge plan. Often scratching my head, I wonder how I will be able to assist the patient. However, I will never doubt God; sharing God’s love will help. After all, it is my story; Jesus loves me; this I know.

    One of the scriptures I love to share:

    Psalm 23

    The Lord is my shepherd,
    I will not be in need.
    He lets me lie down in green pastures;
    He leads me beside [a]quiet waters.
    He restores my soul;
    He guides me in the [b]paths of righteousness
    For the sake of His name.

    Even though I walk through the [c]valley of the shadow of death,
    I fear no [d]evil, for You are with me;
    Your rod and Your staff comfort me.
    You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
    You [e]have anointed my head with oil;
    My cup overflows.
    [f]Certainly goodness and [g]faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,
    And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord [h]forever.

    So, I had the opportunity to share God’s love through tears this week. Many hugs and tears. God promises to catch our tears, and after yesterday, I am convinced we can experience peace in the dying process.

    The code was called, and the doctor and the nurses tried, but heaven’s calling. Medication is administered, the fight is valiant, life is hanging in the balance–sometimes the battle is won. Sometimes compressions, drugs, and machines are not enough, time on earth is fleeting, but time in heaven is eternal.

    Heaven is real. Do you have your reservation?

    This wasn’t the first time this week that I witnessed the pain and loss of a loved one. We need to walk a little closer to those we love. We need to shed love and light, not hate. We must speak to those we love in kindness and giggle and have fun. Here is one of my favorite songs by Alan Jackson I Love to tell the story

    Despite having a hard week, I love what I get to do as a case manager. Daily we must look for opportunities to share our story of how Jesus works in our life.

    What is your testimony?
