    Where is your brother?

Beloved, do you have an internal conflict in your family? Today in reading Genesis 3-6 and 1 Chronicle 1: 1-4 we read about the conflict between Cain and Abel.

Conflict is hard. Cain suffered the consequences of his choice to murder his brother.

We also read the family lineage between Adam and Noah. Wendy Pope encourages to read for something old, something new, and something to do. Cain is not mentioned in 1 Chronicle 1: 1-4.

Is God asking you a question? He asks Cain, “Where is your brother?” Then God tells Cain his fate.

Have you ever done something that you regret? God is in the business of forgiveness. In James 4:8 it says if we draw close to God he will draw close to you.

I love God’s word when we read about Noah, we read about God’s faithfulness and Noah’s complete trust in God. Noah did not look back when He entered the ark, it had never rained but he knew what God said was going to come true. And the rain came.

We pick up the rest of this story tomorrow.

So how do you end the conflict? I think when we walk daily with the Lord it is easier to end the conflict by not starting a conflict in the first place. Or if the conflict is existent, walk-in forgiveness.

My something old is I knew about Cain and Abel, my something new was the lineage of Cain and of Adam. My something to do is to share what I am reading with my husband.

Father God, I pray for those in conflict? May they not live with regret. May they seek you for forgiveness and restoration. May they walk-in forgiveness and resolve the conflict. Thank you for your word and for your faithfulness. In Jesus Name, Amen.
