    Whispers

God whispers: 3 ways to pray for others.

God whispers three ways to pray for others.

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:6 ESV.

Who taught you to pray? My mother and grandmother taught me to pray. You see, we had a reason to pray. My beloved father struggled with alcoholism from the time I was two until I was seventeen. However, my mom and grandma never gave up praying that he would rededicate his life. You see, he surrendered to God to preach. He had preached faithfully, and something happened, and alcohol won for a while.

My mother faithfully prayed for my dad for fifteen years.

We are to pray for one another, we are to pray without ceasing, and we are to ask for what we need.

Beloved, I write my prayers, and I use a purple pen. I try to pray early in the morning. So there is a verse in James 5 that is worth committing to memory.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16. KJV.

So what happened to my dad? My mom’s prayers continued, and my dad returned to the Lord and never waivered after he rededicated his life to the Lord. He was 92 when he died, and my dad preached a month before he died.

Father God, prayer is such an essential aspect of our relationship with you. You tell us to pray without ceasing. Help us to come to you with all our concerns. In Jesus’s name,  Amen.

A great way to pray is to make an appointment with God one day before and then keep it. Will you make your appointment with God?
