I Have A Job For You

I have a job for you. Has God ever asked you to do something scary?

In 1995, sitting at church there was an opportunity to go to Israel, to witness to the people in Israel. I knew that I was to go to Israel.

In my last blog, Moses our Biblical Hero from Chapter 11 of Hebrews, he had killed an Egyptian and fled to the desert. He’s been there for forty years. He is married and has children. God gets Moses’ attention by speaking to him from a burning bush. Remember God tells him to take off his sandals because Moses was standing on holy ground.

    Join Me In

God has a job for Moses. Beloved what job does God have for you?

Read with me the job God is going to ask Moses to do.

The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” Exodus 3: 7-10.

    Mission Impossible

I love the theme music to Mission Impossible. Can you imagine what Moses must be thinking? Have you ever been prompted by the Holy Spirit to speak to your neighbor about Christ? Look at Moses’ response in Exodus 3:11.

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11.

Look at his response, “Who am I!”

God meets Moses where he is in his doubt.

And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you[b] will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 3:12.

Beloved, God answers our questions, God equips us for service. God will take away your doubts.

    Conclusion

Moses honestly brings his doubts to the Lord. Just as God prepared me to share my testimony, He will answer your questions and God will prepare you for whatever He is asking you to do for Him.

Father God, thank you that we can bring our doubts to you. Thank you that you prepare us and enable us to serve you and do the job that you are asking us to do. Thank you that you are a Holy God and are with us during this difficult time. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What is God asking you to do?
