    31 Day Writings

Our earthly home is only temporary. Heaven is eternal

Our earthly home is only temporary. Heaven is eternal

Where do you live? Currently, I am in Mansfield, Missouri. We lived temporarily in a 5th wheel trailer while we built our house. Have you ever lived in a temporary setting?

Beloved, can I be bold to tell you, our time on earth is temporary. Our permanent home is not here but Heaven. One day, I saw a bumper sticker, and I’ve never forgotten it. “Heaven is real. Do you have your reservation?”

    Temporary

Today’s word is temporary, and its definition is lasting for only a limited period, not permanent. The word temporary is in the Bible on one time, found in 2 Corinthians 4:18.

“while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.’ 2 Corinthians 4:18.

Beloved, do you have your reservation?

[Tweet “Our permanent home is not here but Heaven.”]

I secured mine when I was eleven years old. You see, I asked Jesus to be my Savior. Even as a child, I knew I was a sinner. After hearing a message at camp, as I was sitting under a tree, I could almost see Jesus reach out to me and woo me to himself. Finally, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, and I ran up the aisle to accept Jesus.

“Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven.” Matthew 5: 12a.

    Blessed

    In Matthew 5,

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3.

    and

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10.

    Heaven

Heaven will be fantastic. Heaven is one of the glimpses at God’s beauty. Do you have your reservation?

My home in the trailer was temporary and the truth is my time in our new home is temporary, but my time in Heaven is eternal and forever.

If you have questions about Heaven, please ask me.

Father God, I pray for the woman reading this post. God, you have given us an eternal home, not a temporary one. Lord, I pray for the person who needs Jesus as her Savior. Lord, I ask for her salvation today. For the reader, who is hurting and mourning, may she embrace that Jesus is the answer to her pain? Lord, blessings are ours, and I thank you for that. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.

So I repeat my question, Heaven is real. Do you have your reservation?
