Psalm 119 W3D2

W3D2

S  I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes. I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.

O- Statues and commands refer to God’s word. There is a sense of urgency with the word hasten. To consider is to think, to ponder. To turn means to repent and the need to obey is to take action. We have to willing participate when reading God. God’s word is active like a two edge sword.

A Each day I need to examine my actions according to His word. His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. His word convicts us when we are not obeying His commands and the Holy Spirit convicts us. I need to use God’s word as my litmus test, my flashlight in the dark. Create in me a clean heart and see if there is any offensive way in me. I will obey his commands, will you?

P Father God, your word is a light unto my path, your word is a two edge sword used to guide direct and convict each of us. There is no condemnation in You, and the Holy Spirit is our helper to assist us in obeying and forsaking the sin we have participated. Father God, I consider my way, may my way be pleasing to you, may my steps be ones of obedience. May I never hasten to obey you. For with obedience comes joy in the morning. I love you Lord.
