Whisper from God week 7

On Friday night, I saw “War Room” with a friend from work. Impressed by the movie and how God continues to answer our prayers.  I reflected on my own personal journey with prayer. Highlights of the movie were prayers being answered and obviously how God works in mysterious ways.

Beloved, do you wake up in the middle of the night with someone on your mind? Is this a divine appointment from the Holy Spirit to pray for that person?

Just this morning praying about a writing idea, the writing idea confirmed by a passage of scripture that the pastor shares in his sermon. I do not think I would have recognized this whisper from God had I not seen the movie.

From the movie, I am convicted of needing to pray for my husband more. God whispers, “Give your concerns to me, I love you and your husband.”

God whispers for me to pray for my family and friends.  Beloved, God whispers for me to pray for you.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2

They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. Acts 1:14

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

Acts 1:14 was my confirmation verse this morning at church. Beloved, what is God whispering to you?

    Hi Diana,
I can’t wait to see War Room ! I love that they are coming out with such incredible Christian films. Prayer is so powerful…I love that God cares about our littlest concerns. I love that God is so good at listening to us. He also knows exactly what we are trying to say even if we do not say it right. May God bless you and your family. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Prayer has always been a challenge for me – knowing how to pray(yes, the Lord’s prayer is a great prayer, but it can get monotonous), how often to pray(at all times, in all circumstances – wow, that’s commitment!), where to pray(prayer closet? that one often confused me), but the most challenging part was what to expect when I pray. I have studied a lot about prayer, especially over the past year and learned a lot. Then “War Room” came out and I was challenged again! I believe we can never stop learning about prayer. It is the one source of communication with God that keeps us connected with Him and knowing His will for our lives. Thanks for sharing!
