28 Days of Loving God – Day 3

28 Days of Loving God – Day 3

Beloved, today the word is a raft. Raft is in the Bible four times. Quite honestly, when I think of raft, I think of Tom Sawyer. He floated down the river on a raft. At least, I think he did. The closest I have ever been to a raft is in a boat in the ocean with my uncle, and also I was on a boat on the Sea of Galilee in Israel in 1995.

In keeping with the ultimate theme this month of God’s love, Psalm 32: 7.

You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7 NIV.

This Psalm shows King David’s confession of sin and how God readily embraces him and forgives him. Then, King David declares his dependence upon God.

A raft as a hiding place what a novel idea.

One would honestly have to trust God on a raft but look at a verse about what a raft was used for in the Old Testament.

and we will cut all the logs from Lebanon that you need and will float them as rafts by sea down to Joppa. You can then take them up to Jerusalem.” 2 Chronicles 2:16. NIV.

These rafts held up heavy logs. These logs were used by King Solomon to build a temple.

God’s love holds us up and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20. NIV.

Will you trust God’s love for you?

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7. NIV.

Father God, you are a safe landing place. We can trust you and only you Lord. In Jesus’s name Amen.
