Five Minute Fridays

3 Ways To Return To God

Five-Minute Friday a time to write on a word and then to connect with other writers.

The word this week is Return.

Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 1:3

Draw unto me and I will draw unto you. James 4:8

This weekend I went to North Carolina to Billy Graham’s Retreat Center for a time of rest, renewal, and refreshment. Sometimes, we need to reflect on what God is doing in our lives, and how we are fulfilling His mission for us. I had just had a meeting with my friends and shared a book with them that is life-changing. The book is by Suzanne Eller and is The Spirit-Led Heart. So I am on track with my reading of Christian books, but I lack the consistency of being in God’s word.

So this weekend was a time of return. There are 3 ways to return to God and the first two are the same as the last one, prayer is the answer. God is faithful and only wants a relationship with us. That relationship starts and ends with prayer. So the 3 ways to return to God are pray, pray, and pray. Concentrate on His word, and pray the scripture back to him. Focus on your relationship by being intentional. Daily set aside time to pray and read and reflect on God’s word.

I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. Psalm 119:15

I am returning my love to the Lord by meeting him daily in prayer and by reading God’s word. Whisper a prayer in the morning, Whisper a prayer at noon, Whisper a prayer in the evening, to keep your heart in tune.

Father God, you are the love of my life and I return to you daily for your love and acceptance. I seek you and your will for my life. In Jesus name, Amen

Will you return to your first love, and seek him daily?

Returning to God… yes, I love this. So often, the day goes by with fast speed and before I know it, the day is done and I haven’t shared enough time with the Lord. I always feel better when I return to Him.

I love this Diana. I have been reading the Book of Psalms in my morning quiet time and I have not been able to move past Psalm 27 until this morning lol. I just want to focus on making my one desire to be in His presence, delighting in His perfections!! Jesus is so beautiful! ❤
