30 Days of Thankfulness-Day 13

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

God’s indescribable gift is Jesus Christ. On Monday, I start an advent book Pointing To The Promise, written by the writers at Proverbs31.org. Have you ever done an advent calendar? The first time I did advent many years ago was with my boys, and we would read scripture and light the candles. Each candle color held a meaning. For example, the last candle was white and known as the Christ candle.

Beloved, I am thankful for this time of the year. The trees are changing colors, holiday flavors of creamer, and a crackling fire in the fireplace—so many things to be thankful for each day.

For instance, my husband drove me to work today, and we had a date night, a little shopping, and dinner. Then, we were heading home, and I am so thankful that Doug was with me because of an accident. Doug was able to maneuver safely through the traffic mess.

Daily, we serve an extraordinary God. He provides and meets our needs.

Will you join me and thank God for Jesus? Have you ever pondered that Jesus willingly submitted to being born embracing humanity? We know Jesus never sinned, and He demonstrated His love for us by being obedient. Read this promise in Romans.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. KJV.

Father God, thank You for Jesus. Thank you that while we were still sinners, Jesus saw the need for humanity and provided the way back to God, and died on the cross for our sins so that we have eternal life.

What verse did you write out? Today, thank God for something that starts with the letter “J.”
