Five-Minute Friday–Part

Good morning, beloved friends, I used to write for Five-minute Friday’s all the time. It is a community of writers, who write for five minutes on Friday on a certain word. Today I will join the community again.

Today the word is part. Part is in the Bible 188 times.

Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.” Luke 11:36

We are a part of the world. God chose each one of us and made each one of us. He looks at the heart. We are to be a light. When he considered Job, he considered him as righteous. When he considered King David, he considered him as a man after his own heart. When he considered you, he said you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Yes, we are a part of the world. Together we make the world better.

For me, my part is to share God’s love, put one foot in front of the other, pray, read, and write God’s word, daily.

What is God asking you to do?

This applies to what I wrote just now. I need to play my part as one of God’s children, both in my role as mom-educator and as a woman of God. I’ve been too distracted with fearing man which is the complete opposite of following God.

I recently got back into reading the Bible in the quiet mornings before my son gets up. It’s been transforming.

Dear Tami, there is nothing better than reading God’s word. I am 74 years old and and I love the Bible. It is an important part of my day. I would like to challenge you to write God’s word. Right now, I am writing out the book of Romans. In July I will join a group At the Well to write out the book of Ephesians. Whether it is a verse or verses, writing God’s word is amazing. Another group that writes God’s word is Love God Greatly. Their study Where He Leads I Will Follow is the current study. Thank you for reading my entry for the word Part.

I enjoyed your encouraging words, along with the Bible verse from Luke. We are called to be light in this world.

Always love reading your encouraging words. My part is to be in the Word daily and act like the daughter of God I claim to be. Spread hope in Jesus and the message of Christ. I encourage others and try to point them to Jesus.

It would be interesting to conduct a word study on all the ways “part” is used in Scripture, especially between several translations. Thank you for giving me the idea.

Dear Barb, I love doing word studies, one of my favorite things, particularly in God’s word. Part would be fun and I had forgotten about the verse in 1 Corinthians 10: 13 about seeing partly. I may look into the word “see” since I just had eye surgery. Blessings Diana
