Adventures on the Dusty Road- Eternal God

Good Morning, sweet friends, do you know we serve an Eternal God. Dr. David Jeremiah in his book, The God You May Not Know, in Chapter 4 addresses the attribute Eternal God, Knowing An Enteral God.

Teaching

Are you afraid of eternity? Dr. David Jeremiah says the fear of eternity is called, apeirophobia. Read with we this verse that he points out in Deuteronomy 33:17, “The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!’

Eternal is in the New King James Version 58 times and 79 times in the New International Version. Eternity is in my mind linked with eternal life, but Dr. David Jeremiah opened my mind to looking that eternity is woven into every truth of scripture. God was the beginning and we read this in Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He reaches forward in the future. Dr. David Jeremiah gives us a definition of eternity, “The eternity of God refers to His existence backward throughout time and beyond, further than we can imagine, and forward into the future, as far as we can imagine and beyond. God never had a beginning and will never have an ending.”

How can we fully comprehend? A God who knows us intimately. A God who wants us to be still and know that he is God. In Psalm 139, King David asks God to search him and know him, and in Psalm 46, King David invites us to be still to know God.

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.” Psalm 145″3

Beloved, in Isaiah 40:28, His understanding is unsearchable, in Romans 11:33, His judgments are unsearchable, and His riches are unsearchable in Ephesians 3:8.

God existed before time and God exists in the past, present, and the future at the same moment. God is eternal. He encompasses time. Dr. Jeremiah states, “God exists much in this present moment as he did in the days of Abraham. God sees and experiences all events at once since He sees eternity in a glance.”

How does this give you hope? God knows how our struggles began and how the problems will end. Have you ever visited a store that has TV’s on display, a big screen, yet there is a small box that has a small screen with another channel. God has more like XRAY vision. Just think about it, God created time and He controls time. So, we can take that a step further, God is involved in our lives, and he knows the end of our stories.

God gives us this glimpse in Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8

A time to be born, and a time to die, beloved, there is an eternal God, who cares and answers our prayers and gives us blessings daily. How can you relate to an eternal God?

Dusty Road

This week a friend visited me from California, a promise of God of friendship. Ann and I have been friends since she and I were nurses at a home health in the 1990. We nursed through the difficult days of the HIV crisis. I was a support to her when her first child was born. Then, I saw the dentist and had an examination and found out more dental work is in my future. XRAY’s, cleaning, and direction for prevention lead me to think about our Eternal God and his promises. God sees us from our innocence as babies, yet we have a sin nature, and the cleaning is necessary, we must accept the cleaning by asking Jesus as our Savior, read the key verse, on our eternal God.

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3

Beloved, we have God’s promises in 2 Corinthians 1:20 and eternal live and prevention occurs when we pray and give our lives to God. I continue to study Colossians, now on Chapter 2.

Lastly, continue to pray for healing for my friends fighting cancer Lori, Carol and Michelle. My sweet friend lost her husband, pray for her, her name is Marylee. My son is doing better with Alpha Gal.

Conclusion

We worship an eternal God. He was with you when you were born, He was with you yesterday, He will be with you tomorrow. The Psalmist asks, where can I hide, there is nowhere we can hide. As I reminded a dear father in the halls of the hospital, whose daughter has turned her back on him and his faith, one day every knee will bow. Pray with me, that I will be utilized as I work to spread the gospel of hope of the eternal God.

Father God, you are eternal, you are God, you are the alpha the omega, the beginning the end. I stand in awe. I ask for those that are hurting will turn to you and see you answer their prayers. I ask for healing where there are pain and sickness. I ask for love where there is hate. I ask for forgiveness where there is unforgiveness. I ask for travel mercies for my friends who are traveling. O Lord, I pray for complete healing for those suffering with an unknown course of medical care like my sweet friend, Colleen. Thank you for answering prayers for the unspoken prayers. Thank you for making a way to pay for all of our automobile expenses. Thank you for all the blessings of an eternal God.
