First Things First

Have you ever considered the first in the Bible? Obviously, the first sunrise, sunset, the first man was Adam, the first sin with Eve, the first garments that were made, the first time there was fear. The first time someone hid themselves from God. The first doubt, the first murder, the first rain, the first boat, and the first rainbow. All of this in the first book of the Bible, Genesis.

First

Scripture

Psalm 89

Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. Psalm 89: 27.

Thoughts

I am not a first born, are you? Beloved, there are some traits of the firstborn that I would like to have, I am the firstborn daughter. Lots of laughter, I am the only daughter.

Do you ever wonder what it is like to have held the first Bible? How about the first song book? How about what was it like to post your first blog?

In this Psalm, Psalm 89, this Psalm was written by Ethan the Ezrahite. There is a praise song, from verse 1,  “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.” Now that I have you singing this song, will you sing of the Lord’s mercy forever?

This Psalm touches on the faithfulness of the Lord, of His mercy, and of His love.

Conclusion

I love the Lord, I love being the firstborn daughter in my family, I love that I can read all the first in the Bible.

Father God, you are the alpha, the first and only God. You give us many first, like when I heard my first son, cry. I ask for blessings for those reading my blog. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What are you thanking God for that are first in your life?
