Four ways to have the peace of God.

There are four ways to have the peace of God in our troubled times.

How do you experience peace, the peace that is so profound but very real? Peace definition is freedom from disturbance; tranquility. Peace is in the Bible 361 times. As we ponder 31 glimpses of God’s beauty, there is nothing more beautiful than the leaves changing color on the trees in the fall. Living here in the Ozarks of Missouri, the trees are profound when the leaves change to the vibrant yellow, red, and orange from the green of the spring.

Finding the peace of God is exciting when we practice these four things.

  1. Daily reading God’s Word,
  2. Praying,
  3. Obedience, and
  4. Feasting in the beauty that surrounds us.

Transformation

According to Madeleine L’Engle, when we experience the peace of God: we demonstrate and show a light, an aura of peace, so those around us want what we have in our lives, the peace of God.

How do you experience this peace that passes all understanding? First, beloved, we have to read God’s Word for ourselves. Then, from reading God’s Word, peace envelopes us, and we know what we know.  All things will work together for good for those called according to His purpose–a promise from God in Romans 8:28.

From the internet peace definition from the Bible, “The Hebrew word for peace, šālôm, translated in the Septuagint most often by the Greek word, eirēnē, has a wide semantic range including the notions of totality or completeness, success, fulfillment, wholeness, harmony, security and well being.”

Beloved, read with me in Isaiah,

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3. ESV.

Along with reading God’s Word daily, we need to commune with God through prayer, confessing our sins.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16 KJV.

Another way to feel the peace of God is through obedience. When we trust and obey, there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. I learned this song as a child, and it is true. As we obey God, peace floods our souls. Lastly, feast on the beauty of God and the grandeur of His creation. Take the challenge of finding 31 beautiful ways to praise God. Find peace in your day by looking for God in the obvious, the sunrise, the sunset, the clouds, a baby, music; let me know what is declaring God to you.

Father God, today the word is peace, and Your beauty surrounds us. Please be with each one reading these words; may they be blessed. May they take the time to read Your Word, pray, obey, and feast in the beauty of who You are to each one of them. You are Sovereign, and You reign, bringing us peace that surrounds us as we trust in You. In Jesus’s name. Amen
