Whispers

God whispers four blessings are yours and more.

God whispers four blessings and more are yours.

I’ve persevered. Despite…….

Vice-gripping migraines, disabling back pain, and arthritis affecting my knees. At one point, I applied for social security disability, only to be denied. You see with migraines, no one can see your pain. However, with all of this difficulty, I returned to school as an adult and became a nurse. I pursued my nursing career, working around the difficulties my health issues presented.

Because most days I coped with pain when someone would ask how are you? I started saying “I’m blessed.”

Beloved, we are blessed beyond measures. Have you ever sang the song “Count Your Blessings?” There are four blessings one can count on daily as a Christian.

As a child of eleven, I asked Jesus to cleanse me from my sins. We all have a sin barometer inside us called a conscience. In Romans 3:23 it says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Then in Romans 6:23, we read that the wage of sin is death.

The first blessing is while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, this promise is in Romans 5: 8. Each person has a God vacuum inside his/her heart, this vacuum is filled by accepting Jesus as our Savior. Have you believed and asked Jesus to be your Savior? Read John 3: 16-17 with me.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” ESV.

Beloved, the second blessing is eternal life. Jesus says in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” We are going to spend eternity with Jesus in heaven. Do you have your reservation?

Another blessing is the indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fills the believer when we accept Jesus as our Savior. The roles of the Holy Spirit: He helps, He Convicts, and He is a Conductor.  We read of these roles in John 16: 12-15.

Lastly, the fourth blessing is the Word of God. Daily, I read and soak in God’s Word. I write scripture, Recently, I started painting,  drawing, and coloring happy pictures declaring God’s promises. Psalm 119:11 instructs us to hide God’s Word in our hearts.  How are you at memorizing God’s word?

Blessings are ours for the naming, there are so many spiritual blessings. Though we struggle, we have hope. We just need to count our blessings daily.

For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. Psalm 38:15, KJV.

I don’t know if I’ve heard of the Holy Spirit as a Conductor. As a music-lover, this paints a beautiful word picture for me!

Dear Lila, I had never had that idea either but the week before in church, our pastor preached on that passage. It really opened up my imagination. Seeing the Holy Spirit conduct our lives. Thank you for reading and commenting. Blessings Diana

Thank you for the reminder to count our blessings. I don’t ever want to take for granted what Jesus Christ did for us, that the Holy Spirit lives in us and that we have access to God’s Word. What blessings indeed!
