God whispers start your day with prayer.

God whispers start your day with prayer.

Do you start your day with prayer? Jesus started his day with prayer. Read with me this verse in the gospel of Mark.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35. NIV.

Diana writes on praying #28WhispersfromGod, #Write28days

Where is your peaceable place to meet God for your quiet time?

The place he withdrew to was a peaceful, peaceable place; it was quiet, the disciples interrupt his prayer time, but they had to search for Him.

Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” Mark 1: 36-37 NIV.

Jesus’s popularity grew, so to pray, He had to find a peaceful, peaceable place. He knew He needed to spend time in prayer. The result of His time alone, read the next verse with me.

Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.” Mark 1: 38-39.

Beloved, this is what is called marching orders. My mentor in prayer, Becky Tirabassi, prays for at least an hour a day and has for over thirty years. Becky, in her alone time, receives her marching orders. Roger, her husband, and she started a church in Southern California. She wrote her prayers and developed a journal, My Prayer Partner. Sections include praise, admission, requests, thanks, listening, messages, New Testament, Old Testament, Proverbs, and a To-Do List.

I love to write my prayers and reading the Bible. This year, I am using a chronological Bible, but I have used the Bible developed by Becky Tirabassi. She’s read through the Bible once a year for over thirty years.

Beloved, God whispers start your day with prayer, find a peaceful, peaceable place. You may have to get up earlier than your family to have a quiet time. True story, I prayed, asking God to make me a morning person so I could have that quiet time before the kids were up and about. Now I do not have to set the alarm as I am awake early most mornings.

Will you join me in praying daily? Perhaps you will join me in reading the Bible also.

What might your marching orders be from God?
