Jonah, Week 3, Day 3

Introduction

Jonah tells everyone what to do. When my mom passed away, death became real to me. I know that she went to heaven. She was a believer of Jesus Christ. So, I told everyone who would listen about Jesus Christ. Who is the last person you told about Jesus Christ?

Jonah, Week 3, Day 3

Reading and Assignment

Jonah 3: 7-8, Proverbs 28:13, SOAP Proverbs 28:13

Scripture

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13.

Observation

When we cover up our sins, we do not prosper.

Application

God’s word is clear if we cover up our sins, we suffer the consequences. Psalm 32 says our sin will sap our strength.

Prayer

Father God, help me to be faithful in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Let me be aware of any sin that is in me, let me confess and purify me of all unrighteousness. Let us be faithful in the race. In Jesus name, Amen.

Conclusion

Ninevah repents, as we read in this verse.

But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Jonah 3:8.

Are you sorry for your sins? Let us be quick to repent.

What do you need to repent from? Is Jesus your savior?
