Reach for the Stars

Reach for the stars, or reach for the sky, a way to get the little ones to stretch. I’ve taught many three-year-olds to reach up tall.

Another meaning on reach for the stars is in your career. I reached for the stars as a medical assistant, returning to school and I received my associates degree for nursing.

Reach is in the Bible 36 times, and in the Psalms two times. Can you think of how reach is used in the Bible.

Reach

Scripture

Psalm 108

For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. Psalm 108: 4.

Thoughts

When I think of the times reach is used in the Bible, I think of when the Israelites reached their destination. How about when the woman reached for the hem of Jesus’ garment?

The Psalmist shares how great the mercy of God that His mercy reacheth unto the clouds.

The Psalmist is King David. Psalm 108 is a combination of Psalm 57 and Psalm 60.

The first five verses of this Psalm exalts God. The last verse declare confidence in God.

Read with me the last two verses.

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Beloved, King David expresses confidence in God. Will you reach out and include God in your situation?

Conclusion

I reached for the stars and completed my Master’s Degree in Nursing. I returned to school after a period of being disabled, I needed to succeed. I did that when I graduated with my Associate’s Degree but God let me reach for the stars and gave me my Master’s Degree.

Father God, thank you for reaching out and letting us succeed in you.

What are you reaching for?

Reach for the stars was the first phrase that popped into my head when I saw the word prompt.
