Unpacking 31 Verses to Live By – Day 15

Beloved, I’ve served the Lord most of my adult life, from teaching children, encouraging women as a discussion leader, and now I am in a role at the hospital where I can pray for patients. Covid has taken a few lives this week. Death for the Christian is a beautiful transition from this life to eternal life, but many are unprepared and shocked that their loved one is now with Jesus for the family left behind. I’m most thankful that I, like the Apostle Paul can say,

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians  1:21.

In teaching the children a couple of weeks ago, the story of Noah, God was ready to destroy the world, yet Noah’s righteousness saved the world. If Noah had not been walking daily with the Lord, beloved, we would not have an everlasting kingdom.

And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6: 6-8.

The bottom line is Noah did all the Lord told him to do. He built the ark and followed God’s plan. God had them enter the ark through a door; God shut the door until it was safe to come out. Jesus is our door; He is the way, the truth, the life as we read in John 14:6.

Yes, as we unpack this verse, Psalm 145:13, God’s kingdom is everlasting. God’s dominion endures forever. Psalm 145 is a psalm of praise written by King David. There are many notable verses in this Psalm such as these,

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness isunsearchable.

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works. Psalm 145: 3, 8-9

Any of these verses in Psalm 145 are worthy of unpacking and memorizing, will you rite one on your index card and share it with a friend.

Heaven is real, do you have your reservation? This is the eternal, everlasting kingdom spoken of in Psalm 145: 13

Father God, thank you that your kingdom endures forever. You are gracious and full of compassion. You are a Good God. In Jesus’s name, amen.
