Unwrapping the Names of Jesus-Day 10

Unwrapping the Names of Jesus – Day 10

Beloved, I am Diana Manley Rockwell. A name is given to us by someone who loves us, most of the time it is our parents. My grandma and dad named me and my middle name is Gail to rhyme with my brother Dale.

As we unwrap our package of names today, we take a peek at the package and the name is “Holy One of God.”

Also we have come to believe and know that You are the [q]Christ, the Son of the living God.” John 6:69. NKJV

What does it mean to be holy? To be holy is set apart. Jesus was set apart, sinless, free from the blemish of sin.

We see another verse in Mark about the Holy One of God. “saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” Mark 1:24. NKJV.

Jesus’ holiness sets Him apart from everyone else. The writer of Hebrews says, “For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens.” Hebrews 7: 26. NKJV.

Jesus gifts His holiness to us. Because He is righteous, we are considered righteous. He who knew no sin became sin so that we might become the righteousness of God, this verse is in 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Holy, holy, holy is the lamb of God. When God looks at us, He sees us through the blood of Christ. We are positionally holy because of Jesus.

So my name has always been shortened to Dian, but when asked, I share my name is Diana. Today will you share the name of Jesus?

Father God, Jesus is the Holy One of God, thank you for your son and for His holiness. You alone are holy and worthy to be praised. Holy One of God, bring people to us to share in your love and goodness. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.
