Unwrapping the Names of Jesus – Day 11

Unwrapping the Names of Jesus – Day 11

Beloved, do you love a good mystery? How about a good love story? In my past, I could read a romance novel in one day; it was a time in my life–starving for affection. The reading of these novels was an escape, and at the same time, the life portrayed in these novels is what I craved. To be loved and accepted, cherished and adored, oh sweet friend, how I dreamed of this life.

Jesus tells us in His Word that there are mysteries in the Kingdom of Heaven. Read with me in Matthew 13,

He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.” Matthew 13:11. NKJV.

In Matthew 13, Jesus explains the parable of the sower, the seed, and the soil. Have you ever wondered why someone can hear the exact message you do and not understand the message? That is a great mystery, but it has to do with the condition of the heart, whether one hears it or not.

Today as we unwrap our package of names, Lord of Lords is the name to cherish. Read with me in 1 Timothy 6,

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only [a]Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.” 1 Timothy 6: 13-16. NKJV.

The mystery revealed in these verses is that in God’s timing, Jesus will return, proclaiming Him as Lord of Lords. Jesus is the Christ as we read in Acts 2:36.

So how does the mystery of Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 13 relate to the mystery of God’s timing, the work of the Holy Spirit, reveals to our hearts the understanding of the scripture? First, Jesus’ name is lovely; He is the King of Kings and the Lord of lords.

Beloved, as revealed in Matthew 13, we are responsible for sowing the seed; God is responsible for the harvest.

Today, the best romance novel is God’s Word. The stories are accurate and reflect on the name above all names, Jesus. That is why I read and study God’s Word. Oh, I still love a good mystery, but the words I read the most are in the Bible.

How will you sow the seed that Jesus is the Lord of lords today?

Father God, thank you that our hearts have receptive fertile soil to receive the message of Jesus at this time of the year. Lord, many are struggling to hear good news, yet daily have Your love surrounding us. You invite us daily to join You as You work in the lives of those who surround us. May we share the many mysteries of Your love to those desperate to hear, may we be faithful to plant the seed as the farmer does to produce a harvest of souls that seek You, may we declare the name of Jesus as Lord of lords, today, in the name of Jesus, amen.
