Unwrapping the Names of the Jesus -Day 21

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 NKJV.

Beloved, I’ve been in Bible Study Fellowship most of my adult life. It is a four-fold approach to studying God’s Word. There is a class near you, and right before Covid BSF ventured to meet via the internet, little did we know that Covid would force us to meet to continue the classes. So, we are back to meeting in person. However, some are still online. BSF is an interdenominational program that seeks to teach men, women, and children the value of studying the Word of God.

Today, as we unwrap the names of Jesus, Savior is the name we will study. The word savior is in the Bible forty-two times.

A few of my favorite verses,

The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence. 2 Samuel 22: 3. NKJV.

I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior. Isaiah 43:11. NKJV.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Phillipians 3:20. NKJV.

Lastly, Beloved, John’s disciple who loved Jesus so much, witnessed and testified Jesus’ love. He calls us beloved in 1 John. Savior comes from the word save. We needed to be saved; thus, we needed a savior.  John writes about Jesus, and he was an eyewitness to our Savior; he is known as the disciple who loved Jesus. At the cross, our Savior paid the penalty for our sins.

Father God, thank you for Jesus, my Savior.

Is Jesus your Savior? If not will you invite Him to be your Savior?
