Waiting Is Not For The Faint At Heart

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Santa always visited our house on Christmas Eve. As mom was fixing my hair,  I remember discovering that my dad was Santa as he bellowed, “HO HO HO” one Christmas eve. Beloved, the mixture of excitement and disappointment wrapped in one event. How could daddy be Santa? My brain didn’t want this to be true. Fast forward to the next year, and as Christmas approached, packages arrived, mom scurried to hide. The waiting was intense; I wanted a particular doll. She was a baby doll dressed in pink on a pink pillow with white eyelet trim.

God is Love and Worth the Wait

With each passing day, my curiosity grew, where was mom hiding the presents. When I thought there was a Santa Claus, I didn’t have such thoughts. Now the anticipation was too much to handle. I looked and looked and discovered my Christmas gift.

Anticipation

Part of receiving a gift is the anticipation of what one might receive. I love to watch someone open a gift I have carefully selected for them. However, there is one gift that no one can accept for another person, and that is the gift of salvation.

Beloved, each person is responsible for accepting Jesus as their savior.

In Romans 3:23, we read that we are all sinners, and we fall short of the glory of God. In Romans 5:8, we read, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” While we were sinners, Christ died for us because in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Acceptance

Beloved, have you accepted Jesus as your savior? Read with me these verses in Romans 10,

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

1For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved

Today

Will you join me in declaring to anyone who will listen that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and that there is no way to God except through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Conclusion

I found my Christmas present early that year and beloved; it would have been much sweeter to wait on the Lord than to pretend surprise on Christmas day. I learned from my mistake and learned that waiting might be hard, but it is worth it when your prayers are answered.

Father God, I pray that my sweet readers would pray this prayer to accept you as their savior. Father God, I know that I have done so many things to betray you. Such as__________, please forgive me for the sins I have listed and those I haven’t listed. Lord, I believe that Jesus is Your Son, and He died on a cross to pay for the penalty of my sins. I ask that He become My Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen.

What prayers are you waiting to be answered?

I have learned that God’s timing is always best. I pray and pray and want an immediate answer. But, I have learned through time that God always answers in His way and His timing. 🙂

I am learning to wait on His timing during my health issues. I found our Santa toys one Christmas too and it wasn’t fun pretending.
