Five Minute Fridays

What will you offer?

Five Minute Friday A time to write for five minutes and then to link with some amazing writers. Today the word is Offer.

Scripture:

“The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’ Exodus 3:18

Offer Yourselves

My Thoughts,

When we see Abraham obey God by offering his only son, it is a foreshadow of Jesus Christ and His offer to die on the cross for our sins. Abraham takes his son and tells him that God will provide the sacrifice.

What faith in God. Commentaries say Abraham believed God and would have resurrected Issac if God would have required Abraham to kill Issac. Why did God ask Abraham to make this sacrifice?

God asks Abraham to prove his love. What is God asking you to offer Him today? Perhaps He is asking you to spend more time with Him. Perhaps, to tithe or to go to church and serve.

Father God, today I offer myself to You.

What is God asking you to offer?
