28 Days of Loving God- Day 16

Beloved, in the morning, does God hear your voice? Today, our word is the voice, and it is in the Bible 469 times. We first read about the voice of God in Genesis 3 right after the poor choice that Eve and Adam made.

And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. Genesis 3: 8

We read the first time we see the consequences of sin. Adam and his wife heard God’s voice and hid from Him. Faulty thinking one can not hide from God. The next emotion is fear from Adam.

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. Genesis 3:10.

Adam admits he heard the voice of God, and he was afraid. However, it was because of the sin.

I’ve shared before that we can hear the voice of God, and how important it is to listen when reading the Bible.

Today, stop and listen for the voice of God–it may be a whisper, but I can assure you it is a voice calling to you filled with love.

Father God, thank you for your voice. Let me not be afraid, and let me always listen for the still small voice of God, In Jesus’s name. Amen
