30 Days of Thankfulness-Day 7

Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name, make known His deeds among the peoples. 1 Chronicles 16: 8.

Today’s verse says to give thanks, call upon His name, and perform deeds among the people. Are you quick to give God credit for your blessings and answers to your prayers?

When people ask me how I am, I declare I am blessed. My friend says she is blessed and highly favored. Both are scriptural. We are blessed and highly favored. Will you join me in thanking God for those blessings?

Beloved, what if we started each day with our gratitude list instead of ending our day with a gratitude list? How many times in our prayers are we asking God to solve our problems instead of thanking God and asking Him how to further His Kingdom? How often do we think all I can do is pray, when in reality, when we start with prayer, our concerns seem less troublesome.

I’m so thankful for the adventure that God gives us each day. His mercies are new every morning. Yesterday, as I worked in the hospital, I was able to see some trusted friends. Then I spoke to a man on the phone. He is a minister, and I could pray with him on the phone all because I asked what he did before he retired.

I love the precious hymn, “What a Friend We Have In Jesus.”  All our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to take it to God in prayer.

Your verse to write is above 1 Chronicle 16:8 is found in the Old Testament. I love the Bible and how the word lights our path.

Beloved, a gratitude journal, a prayer journal, writing the word and praying it back to the Lord will facilitate growth–growing closer to God. What a blessing?

Father God, thank you for our adventures, thank you for the road we walk, thank you for being a friend that we have in Jesus. In Jesus’s name. Amen.

What are you thankful for today?
