Introduction

Amy Grant made this song popular and it is a great introduction to my most favorite verse in Psalm 119.

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
When I feel afraid,
Think I’ve lost my way,
Still you’re there right beside me.
And nothing will I fear
As long as you are near.
Please be near me to the end.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
I will not forget
Your love for me and yet
My heart forever is wandering.
Jesus be my guide,
And hold me to your side,
I will love you to the end.
Nothing will I fear as long as you are near
Please be near me to the end

Father God, thank You for prompting the Psalmist to write the words we read in Psalm 119. Thank you that we can pray through these verses and ponder the wisdom presented in this Psalm. Lord, let Your Word be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Lord for the person who is struggling would You lessen the struggle? Lord for the person who is ill would You give healing? Lord for the person who has lost her way would You be a lamp unto her path and a light unto her path? In Jesus name, Amen.
