Adventures on the Dusty Road – Knowing a Holy God

Good morning, beloved friends, my computer is not charging so I am going to have to take it in Best Buy and see if they can fix it. Hopefully, all it will need is a battery and I will not have to buy a new computer. My husband is all ready to buy another one, but I am looking at not only the expense but having to find all the passwords to the accounts to add the things to the computer.

Beloved, we do not have to have a password to talk to God. He is always there. He is a Holy God. In Chapter 2 of Dr. David Jeremiah’s Book, A God You May Not Know, it is titled Knowing a Holy God. Holy is in the Bible 551 times, beginning in the book of Genesis.

Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

A worthy goal is to know God and be heavenly minded.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14

Teaching

As a child, I loved singing the song, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, early in the morning, our song shall rise to thee.” Remember, I played Sunday school, so I included singing.

In this chapter, Dr. David Jeremiah challenges us to reclaim holiness. How many of us have normalized God. He is a Holy God. He stated that Dr. Billy Graham said, “As I read the Bible, I seem to find holiness to be His supreme attribute.”

An attribute is a quality used to describe something. The cry of the angels was, Holy, Holy, Holy.

We read in Exodus the encounter with Moses had with the burning bush,

“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5

I have been to the Holy land of Israel and stood on Holy land, the experience forever changed my life. The song You are standing on Holy Ground, there are angels all around. I could feel the presence of God when we were on the sea of Galilee and at the Garden Tomb.

The psalmist prayed, “But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:1

So, with holiness we are set apart to love God. God is faithful and we can pray and be assured that He will answer our prayers. God’s faithfulness protects us from evil and His faithfulness triggers us to pray and praise Him. Because of God’s faithfulness we can face tomorrow.

Dusty Road

The greatest attribute of God is that he is Holy and that He shares His holiness. We are holy because of Him. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I see people distraught and discouraged and I remind them that we serve a God that is Holy and yet He is good and he loves us. That He is faithful, and His Word will stand for eternity

Conclusion

I am not sure how long it will be before my computer will be fixed. I trust that you will continue to be faithful in reading God’s word, writing God’s word, and praying. After all, He is Holy.

Father God, You are a Holy God, Great is your Faithfulness, please be with the mom of the wayward child or estranged adult child, please help us pay our bills and buy our groceries, may there be more money than month. Lord for those hurting and suffering, will you bring them comf
