Good morning, beloved friends, an emergency trip to the dentist reveals a cavity under a crown. My gum had receded so there was room for a cavity to form. Oh, the pain, when the cold of a drink or food hits the spot. The crown on the tooth does not protect me from the pain. Hopefully, on Thursday, the dentist will be able to fix the problem.
Beloved, does this remind you of anything, sin hurts us when we keep on sinning. We all will receive crowns when we get to heaven. We read about in the Bible.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

Teaching
As I continue to read Dr. David Jeremiah’s book, The Holy Spirit You May Not Know, in Chapter 7 he shares about the work of the Holy Spirit. The key verse is found in John 14,
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14: 12.
The work of the Holy Spirit is really a mystery. I am sure you will agree. Jesus started his earthly ministry at a wedding, and he performed his first miracle of turning water into wine. The man at the pool of Bethesda, he was waiting for someone to help him in the waters when the waters stirred, and Jesus told him to get up and walk. The blind man received an application of holy spit and dirt made by Jesus and when he washed his eyes he could see. The woman with the issue of blood reached out and touched the hem of Jesus’s garment and she was healed. In this chapter, Dr. David Jeremiah covers more of Jesus’s miracles emphasizing that he told his disciples that they would do greater things.
What greater works is God calling you to do? Perhaps, it is to shepherd a younger woman, teach a Sunday School class, help in the nursery. Our testimony alone is powerful and if we are willing to share our testimony any place and any time, our work will be great. I have witnessed the work of the Holy Spirit; many people are healed at the hospital where I work. What about you?
Dusty Road
Although, I have a crown over a cavity, the crown didn’t protect me from getting the cavity. When we sin and keep on sinning, we sometimes get destroyed by the sin. However, the dentist is going to help fix my tooth and the Holy Spirit through forgiveness takes care of the sin, therefore, we can do greater things for God.
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14: 12.
What great things are you doing for God?
Conclusion
We are each called to be faithful. Dr. David Jeremiah’s challenge is to ask God to help us shine like we never have before–holding our lights up high, making a difference in people’s lives around us for the glory of Christ and for the salvation of many.
May you always be prepared to give a reason for the hope you have.
Father God, thank you for your Word. Thank you for your love, forgive us where we have failed you. Lord, for those who are sick please heal, for those in pain, please provide relief, for those with hidden sin, let there be confession and revival. For unspoken request, Lord you know those needs. In Jesus’s name, Amen
