Answer Me When I Call

Introduction

Recently, while babysitting my nephew’s children, one had hit the other with a shovel, before you freak out the three-year-old was probably getting even with the six-year-old and did not hurt the older boy. However, I did not want that behavior to continue, so I went to correct the younger one. I called and called and the three-year-old did not answer.

Today in Psalm 4, King David is calling out to God.

Psalm 119:88

Scripture

Psalm 4

Thoughts

Verse 1 says, “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.”

In the Passion Translation, verse 1 says,

God, you are my righteousness, my champion defender.
Answer me when I cry for help!
Whenever I was in distress, you enlarged me.[c]
I’m being squeezed again—I need your kindness right away!
Grant me your grace, hear my prayer, and set me free!

Have you ever pleaded with God to hear you? I have many times in my life. He is a God that answers prayers. However, beloved, the answer may not be how you prayed. Most times, His answers are better than we asked.

What if daily we prayed Grant me your grace, hear my prayer, and set me free.

Galatians 5:1 says to do everything to stand fast, read with me this verse in Galatians.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1

We need to do everything to not be yoked in bondage. What sin do you struggle? Oh Beloved, I struggle with over rescuing. I struggle with trusting God to do what is best in the lives of those I love.

King David tells God his problems, the commentaries says this Psalm goes along with Psalm 3.

All mercy and grace is from God. We are never given what we deserve because we have and serve a loving God.

In the end, when we see God face to face, we will hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Conclusion

With the help of the six-year-old, I found the three-year-old and after a time out for hitting his brother, I had him apologize for hitting his brother and for not answering me when I called. Both boys are so precious and I am blessed to be in their lives.

Beloved, God answers when we call. He is available, he promises that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us, this is found in the book of James, chapter 4.

Father God, thank you for your mercy and grace. In Jesus name, Amen.

Will you call out to God and draw near to Him.

P.S. my blog will be down for maintenance, starting later today, so we will catch up in the Psalms Sunday or Monday. Blessings to you sweet beloved friend.
