The Tower of Babel

Do you speak a foreign language? When I was in second grade the teacher taught us German and I had four years of the German language. I could read, speak and sing in German.

A language that would have been helpful for me as a nurse would have been Spanish. I regret not learning how to speak Spanish.

Today’s reading Genesis 11-14 covers the story of when the world spoke the same language but began to covet God’s position and so God confused their language. Then in Genesis 12 is the call of Abram, the adventures of Abram with his wife Sarai and his nephew Lot.

My something old was reading about the Tower of Babel, my something new is I didn’t realize Abram had to rescue Lot before the scene in Sodom. My something to do is to proclaim God’s word.

Yes, I wish I had learned to speak Spanish and I am so thankful that God has given me the desire to be in His word.

I am thankful for the voice I have to pray and share God’s word with you.
