Covenant God and Covenant Love

I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Genesis 9:15 NIV.

What was the last promise you made to someone? Did you keep that promise? God keeps His promises.

Thankfulness

Thanksgiving Blessings

I made a promise fifty-years-ago to love and honor my husband. At year twenty-five, circumstances overwhelming, I did not like him very much. I never did seek the advice of a lawyer, but I did seek the advice of a trusted pastor. For many years, the pain was great.

What do you do when your plans are contrary to God’s plans?

The above verse is the first covenant made after the flood. God made this covenant with Noah. Noah believed in God and built an ark because God told him that man had become so evil. Beloved, there had never been measurable rain, much less a flood. God promised Noah He would never destroy the earth again by flood. He gave the rainbow as a sign of the covenant.

13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.” Genesis 9: 13-17. NIV

So what do you need in your life right now?

This week we celebrate Thanksgiving. Have you ever thanked God from A-Z?

I am thankful that God loves us, and He is a Covenant Keeping God. He keeps His promises.

So after a few years and counseling, what helped me the most was a prayer session, Steps To Freedom, where I learned about forgiveness, and I forgave him. I asked God for a new love for my husband. We have been married for fifty years.

Father God, thank You for Your Word, Your love, Your promises. Thank You for all of the blessings we have in our lives. Lord, if someone needs Your love today, would You show Your immeasurable love to each person. Thank You for being a Covenant-Keeping God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What are you thankful for?
