Five Minute Fridays

Don’t Settle

Five Minute Friday- a time to write for five minutes on one word and then link with other amazing writers.

But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and he will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety.” Deuteronomy 12:10

I looked out to the backyard and realized that the grass was not as green as it had been, I became unsettled as I realized that the once prized backyard was no longer a top priority for my husband. But I knew why. You see we needed to let go of our home, we had settled on a loan that was going to be impossible to pay back, we were one of the victims of a fraudulent loan.

The children of Israel wandered in the desert for many years because they disobeyed God. God would not allow them to settle in the promised land because of their disobedience.  The children born to those that left Egypt are the ones who settled in the promised land.

Good things came from the loss of our house, at the time, I didn’t think anything good would ever come from that move. But we were able to take care of my husband’s mom and my dad because we did not have a home. Although I could have a house now, we are settled in our cozy 5th wheel, ready for an adventure. We are not settling for anything less than what God has planned for our future.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

It’s always good to look back and see how God was working all things together for good, especially if we couldn’t see it at the time. (Visiting from FMF). God bless x

” We are not settling for anything less than what God has planned for our future.”
I’ve learned to agree with God’s plans after grieving over my plans. We never can tell the future, so we must leave it in God’s hands.

God is so good to have bigger thoughts than what our limited thinking can conjure.

    Glad to visit from FMF.
