God equips His Saints

God equips His Saints

Do you feel equipped for the job you are doing? How about your future?

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:11-12. KJV.

Warren W. Wiersbe says, “If the Lord calls you, He will equip you for the task He wants you to fulfill.”

Equip

As a nurse, I am trained to care for the sick. I’ve got the degree and studied many hours, perfecting my craft. I am proud of my nursing degree, and I feel God enabled me to become a nurse.

Our word today is equipped, and equipping means preparing (someone) mentally for a particular situation or task.

Equip is in the Bible 9 times.

that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:17. KJV.

Sometimes the word means equipment, a supply with the necessary items for a particular purpose. For example, what equipment do you use for your job?

Equipment

As a nurse, some of the equipment I have used is a stethoscope, and most recently, I use a computer to record all of my assessments.

As a Christian, equipped by the Holy Spirit, verses come to my mind. When I listen to the Holy Spirit, I share what God wants me to share, and a prayer is a tool that I use. I am working for Mercy Hospital, and the organization encourages prayer. Oh, I still ask if I can pray, but I am willing to pray with the patients I meet.

Father God, equip us today to serve you. In Jesus’s name, amen.

What has God equipped you to do for Him?
