Have You Ever Pleaded, “Hear My Prayer”

Introduction

When I arrived home my husband was just letting the babysitter go home, I came in through the garage, and when I didn’t see Dale our three-year-old, I asked, “Where is Dale?”

The reply did not make me happy because they told me he was in the front yard. We lived on the top of a cul-de-sac with most of our half-acre out front. So I went outside to look for Dale and the babysitter left.

Dale was nowhere to be found. I walked down to the first neighbors home and he wasn’t anywhere to be found. Frantically, I returned home and called 911, what was your son wearing? I didn’t know.

I made the report and hung up and I prayed as I never had prayed before.

Psalm 119:159

Scripture

Psalm 5

Thoughts

The author of this Psalm is King David. He is praying for deliverance and to have no distraction while serving God.

King David, the man after God’s own heart. Even though, he made some serious mistakes.

In this Psalm he ask God to hear him, but then states that God does hear him.

The verse in the New Testament, that we have not because we haven’t asked resonates with this Psalm.

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”  John 16: 24

We have to ask, and ask believing and keep asking.

When was the last time, you prayed for the lost in your family, those friends that have strayed from the word?

Conclusion

My son had walked approximately a half-mile away from our house. Our neighbor found him and he would not get in the car with him, so my neighbor came and picked up my husband taking him to Dale. Dale was safe and God heard my prayers, my cry of anguish.

Since that time, I have cried out to God. God answers our prayers, maybe not how we think He should but He is faithful.

Father God, hear our prayers…….In Jesus’ name Amen

I am thankful God always listens. I may not know the reason or the answer but God knows.
