Ruth 4: 7-10, SOAP Ruth 4: 9-10

Scripture

And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, and all that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, of the hand of Naomi. Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.” Ruth 4: 9-10.

Observation

Boaz buys the land and the rights to marry Ruth. He gathered witnesses so that he fulfills God’s plan.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for your word. Thank you that you have given us examples of walking with you and obeying you. You are God and you are good. Ruth shows us that we can trust you with the desires of our heart. Thank you that Boaz is the kinsman redeemer and models for us what it means to be in complete obedience. Help us to trust you. Help us to be in your word daily and to give you our hopes and desires. I pray for the woman who is suffering from chronic illness, let her keep on as you do answer prayers. I pray for the woman who is lonely, let her trust you with her loneliness. We humbly ask that you be on kinsman redeemer and that you give us the desires of our heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Conclusion

Boaz does not hesitate to obey. What is God asking you to do?
