Unpacking 31 Verses to Live By – Day 10
Beloved, this verse is for believers. Could you read it with me?
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.
First, there is comfort in this verse. We know all things work together for good, to those who love God.
Second, there is peace because the verse says to those “the called” according to His purpose. So we have a purpose.
However, we often tell a person that the situation will work out when this verse truly is a promise for believers. We want to console a person. We offer God’s word as encouragement. If they are not believers, perhaps we should provide the Roman roadway first.
Ultimately, we need to trust God with our situation and not lean on our understanding. Daily, I work with sick people, and I am not sure of the outcome, but I can trust in God that He has a plan for each one of us, a plan to give us hope and a future.
