Beloved, “fear not” is over three hundred times in the Bible. So why would God tell us as believers to “fear not?’ Because sweet friend, He is our God.
In November of 1994, I prayed through the Steps To Freedom by Dr. Neil Anderson. Learning who I am in Christ changed my life. Indeed, besides the day I accepted Jesus as my savior, this day changed me forever. That day I learned how forgiveness is essential to rid one of bitterness and restore one. As a result, I reconciled with my husband and have been married 51 years. Fear does not rule me.
The only legitimate fear object is God.
I think of God saying, “fear not,” and I pray when I feel fear. But, after all, 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Father God, Thank you that I do not have to be afraid, I can trust you. Help me Lord, to fear not and to give you all my fears. When I am fearful, I will trust you. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
