Five Minute Fridays

Well Done Good Servant

Five-Minute Friday- A time to write for five minutes then link with other authors.

The word is done.

Well done faithful servant.

July 19 is my dad’s birthday, if he were alive we would be celebrating his 93rd birthday. However, daddy went to be with Jesus on November 20, 2017. When I think of the promises of the Bible on eternal life, I think of the Apostle Paul, saying to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I am sure when daddy entered heaven at 2:15 pm on November 20, 2017, he heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

God loves us and there is nothing we can do to make him love us more, at the same time our love for God is shown by joining Him and serving Him. Henry Blackaby in Experiencing God says that God is already at work around us, God invites us to join Him. To God be the Glory great things He has done.

My dad was a WWII Veteran and a minister. He preached until the end of his life. His last sermon was to me the morning he died as he shared on Elisha. God doesn’t let us retire.

Father God, thank you for loving us and giving us your son. Let me be found faithful in the little and the big things. Let me hear the words, well done good and faithful servant. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Happy heavenly birthday to your daddy today! July 15th marked 40 years since my daddy left this earth. We never stop missing them, but it is a great feeling to know that they have heard those words, “Well done good and faithful servant.” Praying for you today, my beautiful friend! Love you!
