Hit the Pause Button

write31days_diana_17

How many of us hit the snooze button on our alarms? What if there was a pause button in life? How many times would you hit the pause button?

There is a song Eddie Arnold sang, “Make the World Go Away,”

This song affected my life, it was one of my mom’s favorite songs, you see she had a lot of illness in her life and a lot of pain. Make the world go away, and get it off my shoulders, say the things you use to say, do you remember when you loved me if you do then forgive me and make the world go away.

Often I’ve hit the pause button, wanting the world to go away. However, in reality, life does not go away until the Lord takes us home. We’ve got the opportunity to live each day to the fullest. To praise God when times are difficult when we don’t understand when we wait for answers when we search because of the unknown path that we are walking.

I’ve memories of happy and sad times in my youth, my young adult years, yes I remember the disabling headaches when I wanted life to pause. I remember the unhappy times when I made mistakes and I wanted to hit the pause button on life. Maybe you are in the midst of a crisis and you want to hit the pause button. Beloved, God is with you in the crisis just as He was with me when I was living life apart from Him and when I like the prodigal son returned to the Lord seeking forgiveness.

Here is the truth it is in Romans 8, if God is for us, who can be against us, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Beloved we are more than conquerors in Christ. When we want to hit the pause button, we need to remember that He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is our Lord and Savior, He invites us to breakfast, to feed us on His word. He is in our pauses of life waiting to give us strength for the journey, just enough light for the step we are raising our foot to take the step in the unknown.

Father God, I am so tempted to hit the pause button of life, but You’ve got a different plan for me. Your plan says that you know my future and that you give me hope and a future. With you by my side, I do not have to make the world go away. I can embrace today and the future because You are with me even when I do not want to live the life I am living. Lord, forgive me for not trusting you and wanting to hit the pause button. I’m praising you for answering my prayers because you care for me. Lord, I am praising You for the woman who relates to hitting the pause button but is now wanting to experience life to its fullest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Describe a time you hit the pause button? What are you doing to celebrate Jesus working in your life?

I love the Book of Romans! I’m so guilty of hitting my snooze button every morning. And Barbies graphics are beautiful!
