God whispers three ways to resemble Christ.

God whispers three ways to resemble Christ.

One day looking in the mirror, I decided that I’ve got my grandmother’s ears, not that I resemble her or do I?  Defining resemble is to have qualities or features, especially those of appearance, in common with (someone or something); look or seem like.

Who in your family do you resemble? Looking at myself in the mirror and comparing it to pictures, I resemble both my parents. However, the one I most need to emulate is Christ.

    three ways we resemble Christ.

    We are to be Christlike.

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Philippians 2: 1-3. KJV.

Beloved, God whispers to us be Christlike.

What does this mean? If we look at the above scripture, we are like-minded, have the same love, and be of one accord of one mind.

    Like-minded

To be like-minded, one needs to know Jesus as your savior. I accepted Jesus as a child. I knew I was a sinner; I rolled my eyes at my mom and whatever else eleven-year-old children do. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The other way to be like-minded is to know who you are in Christ.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12 KJV

God whispers we resemble Christ when we are like-minded.

    Love

When we recognize who we are in Christ, the love of God is so important. Christ loved the world so much that he became the sacrificial lamb that was slain. Romans 5:8 says that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Beloved, Jesus is love. He is the good shepherd that left the 99 to go in search of the one. Yes, Jesus is God’s Son, and for this reason, we experience love.

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” Romans 8:16 KJV.

God whispers we resemble Christ when we love one another.

    One Accord

Lastly, to resemble Christ, we need to be in one accord or of one mind. Beloved, the only way to be of one accord is to know God’s Word. To know who we are in Christ. Did you know you are Christ’s friend? You are accepted, approved, sanctified, justified, and because of this, when we know the scripture, we can claim who we are in Christ.

“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,” Ephesians 1:5 KJV.

God whispers we resemble Christ when we are one accord in Christ.
